Not that I care what you fools think.
Alun AvatarI’m starting a discussion, or even an argument as Andy is bound to start name dropping that Varonica Mars Garbage. But I’m asking this question "What was the best episode of 2005?"

My vote goes to.....

"Battlestar Galactica: Pegasus." (Sci-Fi) Written by Anne Cofell Saunders; Directed by Michael Rymer

The midpoint of the show’s second season saw the ragtag, fugitive fleet learning that a second battlestar, the Pegasus, survived the Cylon genocide, only to develop a darker facsimile of civilization than the Galactica’s. Because the Pegasus had no civilian fleet to protect, its values were built on the hardest aspects of warrior culture. Discipline and loyalty were bound up with intimidation and paranoia; order was maintained through shockingly casual "interrogations" of suspected enemies that were basically legalised beat-downs and gang rapes.

Alternately chilling and inspirational, this episode recontextualized the Galactica fleet’s existence and gave its civilian and military members a reason to put aside their differences and reaffirm the values that bind them.

Basically this episode, hell the whole season rocked, and was way more than we deverved.

Andy...Insert Veronica Mars rant here.

So this is Christmas....
Alun AvatarOk its "that" time of year again when well all get drunk and merry and refect on the year gone by, my reaction to that... sod it, its not been the best year for a whole bunch of reasons but it has been a quick year.

Just where did it go? This year has seen some worring trends in the nature of our Televison, even more reality shows, and one-trick pony sketch shows that deliver annoying one-liners directly into the mouths of childern in the school yard.

Oh the plus side Lost got big in the UK even with Channel 4’s best efforts to screw it up, and next year looks even better with a whole slew of US shows gomming to our screens, even Andys beloved Greys, however some really great shows got binned really early on, top one for this was the FOX network when they binned the fantastic "Kitchen Confidential". Words fail me at this point.

Some great DVD releases came out this year too, with "Space: Above and Beyond" being the top of my list, just a shame we didn’t get a shed load of extras for what is a great series.

Predictions for next year?

The new Superman film will stink, is the only one that comes to mind.
